Waimea
Canyon, on the Hawaiian Island of Kauai, is one of the most unique
places on Earth. Miles of trails weave sightseers through the
canyon, once described by Mark Twain as the "Grand Canyon of the
Pacific."
The
canyon may not be as deep but it is certainly more colourful than
its Arizona counterpart. Thousands of years old, Waimea Canyon
was carved by rivers flowing from Mount Waialeale. The result
is a truly spectacular experience. Earth, mixed with centuries
of volcanic eruptions, inspires visitors from around the world.
